A 15-minute Friday, three questions

Which jobs are losing margin?

Enter what you have paid and committed and how far along each job is. You get a forecast margin and a traffic light compared with the margin you quoted. See the job costing formulas.

Will cash run out in the next 13 weeks?

Stage claims, bank delays, subcontractors, wages, super, overhead and BAS go into one forecast. It shows the lowest balance, the week it happens and what to move.

What do I charge for this variation?

Enter your cost and the margin you want. Get the price with GST and a ready-to-send message in under two minutes. See it in the demo.

Why a fixed-price job can lose money quietly

Say you quote a A$400,000 job at a 15% margin. That is A$60,000 of profit on a A$340,000 budget. If costs finish at A$360,000, you keep A$40,000. A 5% overrun of the contract price is A$20,000, and nothing in your bank balance warned you until the last claim. This is a worked example, not a statistic.

Cash tells a second story. A job can be profitable and still leave you short between progress claims. Read why builders run out of cash between stages and how much margin a builder should aim for.

Who it is for

Owner-builders and small residential builders who price fixed-price contracts and want to check the numbers themselves in a quiet quarter hour, usually on a phone, usually after a day on site.

What it is not

It is not accounting software. It does not do take-offs, contracts, invoicing, scheduling or site safety. It reads the numbers you enter and tells you where each job and your cash are heading.

One price, no subscription

A$149 once. It includes version 1 fixes and tax-rule updates, works on up to 3 devices and comes with a 30-day refund. Read the pricing details and the refund policy.
